Wo wir uns berühren
30.08.2024 — 08.09.2024
"Where we touch" is the first group exhibition by visual artists Wiebke Conrad, Maria Ammann and Alice Bischof. All born in 1992, in their works they discuss questions of physicality in relation to motherhood from three different perspectives between painting, drawing and sculpture.
Wiebke Conrad places language and moments of touching bodies at the centre of her artistic exploration through drawing. Between abstraction and narrative, her works open up the space for a discourse on physical touch.
Maria Ammann discusses the public appropriation of bodies in the context of motherhood. Her sculptures examine transformation processes of the body through motherhood and the resulting political issues.
Alice Bischof critically examines the socio-political conditions of human life and birth. She explores these by using different materials as image carriers: the material determines and shapes the image, which shows sections of human life.
