Vernissage: Thu, 6 Mar → 19:00 In painting, things, people or situations are often "immortalised on canvas", but what really lasts? Aren't most works subject to decay and eventually fall into oblivion? Virginia Lorenzetti certainly does not believe in eternity and dedicates her art to the opposite: ephemerality.

Ephemeral Matters, the title of her solo exhibition, can be interpreted in different ways: as "fleeting material", "fleeting matter" or also as "the fleeting is important". All of these interpretations are welcome. Lorenzetti explores questions of evolution, transformation and renewal of the visual language both technically and conceptually. An ever-ongoing venture to immortalise ephemerality.

Her works mostly consist of filigree composite coloured papers and fabrics. Using natural pigments she produces herself, which are mainly obtained from oxidation processes, she colours folded papers with different textures and grammages. The folding and colouring create two-dimensional patterns with smooth colour gradients. Images that look as if only the shadow of a moment has been captured.
