The artist duo Quadrature (Juliane Götz and Sebastian Neitsch) will present the results of their Schaufler Residency@TU Dresden 2026, which brings together the processes and questions arising from their artistic research residency at the Schaufler Lab@TU Dresden.
Drawing on economic data, the artistic project translates abstract market processes, hidden concentrations of wealth and the opaque superlatives of extreme wealth into planetary analogies. In an installation, these interrelationships coalesce into a digital cosmos that opens up speculative perspectives on the dynamics of global wealth distribution. The installation is based on the assumption that wealth exerts a self-perpetuating force of attraction: capital attracts further capital, thereby contributing to the ongoing concentration of wealth.

The internationally acclaimed media artists Juliane Götz (born 1984 in Erding, lives in Heidesee / Linz) and Sebastian Neitsch (born 1982 in Hamburg, lives in Heidesee / Linz) have been working together as a duo since 2015 at the intersections of art, science and technology. They use data as their artistic raw material to explore questions relating to social and scientific discourses, as well as collective power structures and inequalities.
Sebastian Neitsch and Juliane Götz studied at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Halle. The duo have received numerous international awards, including at the Prix Ars Electronica (2015 and 2018). They have also been awarded numerous grants and residencies, for example from the Kunstfonds Foundation, the Akademie Schloss Solitude and the Hertz Lab at the ZKM Centre for Art and Media in Karlsruhe. From October 2026, they will take up the Chair of Interface Cultures at the University of Art and Design Linz.
