Matti Schulz



In his drawings and objects Matti Schulz comments on current affairs. In his mostly reduced ink drawings that are concentrating on the essential brute comical punch lines such as »Understanding homicide and doing it yourself« or »He has been turning sausage since the turnabout«. If colour enters the sheet, the works are often drawn denser and thus seem more narrative. Some ideas for images are triggered by media headlines; some drawings are being worked on for quite some time until the fitting sarcastic wording has been found and the bitter punch line has been put into a nutshell. A few objects complement the exhibition such as a cast in bronze »Tit tornado«, that is flanked by »Volcano eruption with tit lava«.
