We are pleased to introduce Johanna Seidel, another graduate of the HfBK Dresden. Born in Sebnitz in 1993, the artist studied there under Peter Bömmels and Anton Henning. The artist has developed her very own painterly style for her dreamlike and evocative portraits of modern female figures. A delight in opulent ornamentation, at times a flirtation with the naïve, as well as references and allusions to art history, are set against a mix of cool and casually staged everyday scenes and, at times, enigmatic symbolism.
