The exhibition شبابيك (pl. 'window'; /ʃa.baː.biːk/) shows paintings by the artist Ali Essali at the Hole of Fame e.V. Dresden from 06 to 19 December 2025. The exhibition presents a selection of paintings created in Damascus in 2012 and 2013 and in Dresden from 2016 onwards. In figurative portraits and expressionist paintings, she reflects on human feelings between presence and absence, between the visible and the emotional.

Ali Essali (*1988 in Damascus) studied painting at the Faculty of Art and Design at the University of Damascus, where he successfully completed his studies in 2013. He continued his studies in Dresden from 2016 to 2018 as a guest student in the Kerbach class at the University of Fine Arts and recently completed his training as an organ builder. He is married and the father of a wonderful daughter.
