RAUMGEWEBE

RAUMGEWEBE | Painting and objects enter into a close exchange in the exhibition at the Kunstverein Meißen, which is characterised by mutual inspiration and an ongoing interpenetration of structures.

Anna Eibl-Eibesfeldt shows room-high paintings on long lengths of fabric. In the large-format works, areas of colour spread out, overlapping in layers and creating multi-layered pictorial spaces. Visible brushstrokes contrast with clearly outlined drop shapes, while organically flowing painterly archetypes emerge.

The wire objects by Renate Haimerl-Brosch open up the space in front of the paintings and enter into an exciting dialogue with them. Some of the objects are reminiscent of dark charcoal drawings, which become denser in places and then spread out again, swinging freely in space. In other works, delicate structures emerge that shimmer silvery in the light. The free-hanging objects move lightly like dancers in the room.

The arrangement of the objects in front of the paintings creates optical overlays and new references. The expansive spiral form of the double helix picks up on the visible movements of the paintings and leads them into the space with a grand gesture.
