POP-UP: Anette Jäger | Lichtimaginationen
Anett Jäger aus der Serie Lichtimagination

Exhibition opening 03.10. 6 pm in the presence of the artist.

Anette Jäger is a light painter who understands the medium of photography as a means of materialising her pictorial imagination, her sense of colour and form. She creates abstract compositions, surreal spatial interweavings with exciting perspective effects that may be reminiscent of a concrete-constructive style and yet represent something entirely her own.
Anette Jäger creates "light imaginations" in her works, which go through several phases during their creation - from the three-dimensional to the two-dimensional, from the multi-coloured to the monochrome, from transparency to opacity. The starting point for these metamorphoses are model stage pictures, which the artist creates with coloured surfaces, finds and illuminates paths through light sources and captures them photographically (i.e. drawn with light). The source material - the model stage - is destroyed; what remains is the impression on the image carrier: light paths and spaces that draw into the image but never fully reveal themselves.

Anette Jäger was born in Stuttgart in 1964 and has been working with painting and photography since 1985. She studied at the Dresden University of Fine Arts from 1993-1997. Since 2007, she has been working with the combination of abstract painting and photography.

Anette Jäger's photo is not a found scene, but a small, self-made stage set that is both abstract and fascinating.
The multiple exposure that Anette Jäger from Dresden has created from photographs of an old window shutter, dotted fabrics and a self-made model looks like a drawing or a computer graphic.
