Mix & Match

From 26 to 28 September 2025 the NEUE ArT art fair at MESSE DRESDEN will once again present contemporary art. This year for the first time in combination with the exhibition Mix & Match - an interactive encounter of the arts in which students of the HfBK Dresden enter into a creative dialogue with professional artists and visitors.

Mix & Match is more than a title; it is a form of work. Students are invited to rethink authorship through dialogue, collaboration and cross-media experiments. Whether collectively or individually, each work refers to exchange, interdependence and mutual inspiration.

For the audience, this is an invitation to think along with the creative process. How does the work change when multiple voices, media and approaches come together? Mix and Match encourages precisely this reflection and shows how vibrant art can be beyond conventional patterns. The works submitted were carefully screened and curated under the direction of Erika Richter.

In the industrial ambience of Exhibition Hall 2, a dynamic field of tension will be created on the weekend of 26 - 28 September, in which illustrations, photography, graphics, design, sculpture, painting and installations will come together in an unusual way. But the presentation of art is not the only focus. Rather, a space opens up in which jointly developed creative thinking can be experienced.
