MITRESPEKT! 10 Jahre ABC-Tische des Umweltzentrums Dresden e. V. - Eindrücke aus einer motivierten Gesellschaft
09.05.2025 — 06.06.2025

More than 50,000 hours of encounters between migrants and volunteer native German speakers, helping them take their first steps in their new home in Dresden: these are the ABC tables of the Dresden Environmental Centre. They have been a core part of the organisation for 10 years. An environmental topic? Certainly not in the classic sense, more like a small handmade miracle.
Letting people speak for themselves, capturing their actions in pictures and sound and telling others about them - this idea took shape over the course of two years together with Peter Zuber. Peter Zuber documents Dresden's everyday and contemporary history with his camera. At the ABC tables, he showed great respect for the joyful and intensive interaction between volunteers and refugees from different nations, cultures and religions.
The exhibition also honours our partners: the Albertinum of the Dresden State Art Collections, the Dresden City Museum, the state capital of Dresden and the UNESCO school Marie-Curie-Gymnasium.
Musically, Singasylum and the Banda Comunale will accompany us through the evening - a choir and a band who, with international musicians and folk music from many homelands, stand up for respect and togetherness in Dresden and elsewhere like no other, the latter always loudly, and in 2015 also for the ABC tables, which began at the former cemetery Bremer Str. 18 cemetery...
