Kunst trifft...Flussperlmuschel
Roland Nagel, Fotocollage, Quo vadis margaritifera?

The travelling exhibition shows the impressive results of over 60 artists in their exploration of the endangered freshwater pearl mussel (Margaritifera margaritifera). As part of the "MARA - Margaritifera Restoration Alliance" project sponsored by the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation with funds from the Federal Ministry for the Environment, artists from all over Germany have been working on this fascinating but relatively unknown species. A selection of different works from the fields of painting, jewellery design, photography and other art forms are on display in the Central Library. The focus is on works by artists from Saxony.

> Vernissage: Friday, 19 April, 7.00 pm

> Laudation: Martina Reinhold, gallery owner and Sophie Möbius, Sächsische Landesstiftung Natur und Umwelt

> Art event: play with Barbara Geiger on the river pearl mussel from "Fräulein Brehms Tierleben"
