Although they grew up on two different sides of the German Wall, the two artists were exposed to similar melodies and content. Anna Schimkat (*Darmstadt) came into contact with protest songs through her parents' activities in the    peace and women's movement, while Michael Barthel (*East Berlin) became familiar with these songs institutionally and prescribed by the state. The experiences in the transformation society 30 years after the reunification of Germany in relation to industrial history form the starting point for the overall composition. Prepared record players, megaphones, industrial objects, field recordings and their own voices sing along. SING ALSO YOU
