What is paradise? A place of peace? An idea of happiness? Or a memory, transfigured by time and longing? The exhibition ParadDiesDas opens up an associative space in which 27 artists of the Macketanz class from the Dresden University of Fine Arts develop their idea of paradise. And they show that as universal as the term may seem, its interpretation is highly individual.

The works move between figuration and abstraction, between dream and reality. They tell of nature and people, of animals and symbols, of places that could exist - or have long since been forgotten. Recurring motifs and a dominant blue colour create connecting lines - and yet each work remains independent. The result is a diversity in dialogue: inspired by each other, grown in community.

Paradise does not appear here as a rigid concept, but as a flowing state. Sometimes playful, sometimes mystical, always honest and expressive. ParaDiesDas is an invitation to engage with these individual paradises - and perhaps to find your own in them.
