On the occasion of the Erinnerungspolitischer Fachtag, the Kabinett, Raum für Gegenwartskunst im Zentralwerk Dresden, is showing the exhibition RELICS by the US-American artist John von Bergen. Back in 2018, he conceived the series of installations that form RELICS especially for the Zentralwerk. The resulting works make direct reference to the history of the site, especially as a location for industrial production under changing political and social conditions. On the one hand, they are based on research that looks at the various products that were manufactured on the site of today's Zentralwerk over the course of the twentieth century and, on the other, they respond directly to the spaces in which this production took place.
