IN_LIEBE Eine Ausstellung zu Liebe als Haltung in der zeitgenössischen Kunst

The exhibition IN_LOVE is dedicated to the concept of love as an attitude and highlights artistic positions that focus on appreciation, mindfulness, solidarity and repair, but also question the concept.

Love is understood as a form of attention and care that is related to our environment, fellow human beings and society. The focus is on collective and collaborative practices: for IN_LIEBE, only artist duos or groups were invited to consider the power of connectedness in creation. Looking back, artist groups have repeatedly influenced social transformation processes. They have created alternative concepts of coexistence and expanded the concept of art to include social and political dimensions. IN_LIEBE builds on this tradition and shows contemporary works that pursue interdisciplinary approaches and build bridges between art, science, politics and society.

In times of increasing social division and the crisis of democratic discourse, it is important for us to work together and develop artistic positions together.
IN_LOVE is an invitation to reflect and a plea for an art that not only comments, but also tests ideas based on togetherness.
The exhibition will be accompanied by events that explore the topic in more depth in talks and workshops. In addition, the International Summer Academy of Fine Arts Dresden will continue this thematic exploration following the exhibition from 28 July to 8 August 2025.
