Franziska Neubert - Wasser war mein Wahlfach

23.03.2025 — 15.05.2025

With the exhibition "Wasser war mein Wahlfach" (Water was my elective), we are starting the spring with young, fresh art from Leipzig.

The title gives it away: Graphic artist Franziska Neubert is in her element in the sea, lake, river and pool, and her works reflect this. Neubert constantly delights her audience with new and witty pictorial inventions and invites us to look at life from the cheerful and relaxed side, preferably somewhere by the water... Nevertheless, Neubert's work is not lacking in seriousness, as evidenced by her work on Arthur Miller's novel "Fokus", Herta Müller's "Niederungen" and the Japanese story "Die Pfingstrosenlaterne" by Sanyutei Encho, among others. The artist has established herself internationally through numerous book illustrations, exhibition projects and awards. Neubert's preferred technique is the colour woodcut. In addition to original prints and printing blocks, we will also be showing the artist's popular hand-off sets in the exhibition, which are issued in numerous motifs - numbered and signed by hand - and can be purchased from us for a small price.

Look forward to a varied, colourful exhibition with lots of H2O and various surprises!

We look forward to your interest!
