FRANK VOIGT – ‘Collages’

History leaves its mark – in memories, photographs, letters and documents. FRANK VOIGT brings such found objects together to create multi-layered collages. At the MITTE Gallery, we encounter works that foster a dialogue between the past and the present: critical, unconventional and with a keen eye for the human condition.

Shaped by growing up in post-war Dresden, VOIGT explores themes of war, power, manipulation and exclusion. His collages interweave personal experiences with social issues. Photographic fragments, text and colour come together, whilst familiar images take on new meanings. Echoes of Dada and Mail Art open up space for irony, disorientation and surprising discoveries.

In the Kabinett, PETRA LORENZ complements the exhibition with her ‘DADA Office for CHANCE and Order’. Her international art project transforms bureaucratic forms into experimental fields for collage, photography, stamps and personal ideas.
