The exhibition “In nuce. Works on Paper” brings together sketches, overpaintings and pictorial studies by the Dresden-based artist Frank Hoffmann. 

The works on paper, most of which were created over the past ten years, are not merely preparatory studies for an actual, final work, but rather reveal the realised, pictorial insight into the genesis of his work. They are places where the process of seeing, thinking and making marks becomes visible in itself, in which image and insight do not diverge, but rather bring each other into being as the work is carried out on paper.
