In his group of works "Inner Visions", Adam Dreessen attempts an approach to the visuality of dance manifestations and its interpreters.

His photographs are created as part of an ongoing long-term project that presents dancers and performers of different styles, ages, genders and nationalities. It scrutinises what can happen during a performance without elaborate costumes, make-up, stage and spotlights. Is it possible that it is precisely then that the otherwise invisible inner world of the dancers appears?

For us, the movement figures from the past, the expressions of the performers are intertwined with our current perception, our reality. And at the same time, we see moving bodies that are imperceptible to the human gaze beyond the temporal and spatial framing of photography .
