Colin Ardley, originally from Aberdeen, has had his studio in Hellerau since 1992. Following his first solo exhibition in 2004, a second major presentation of his abstract art is now taking place in the Werkstättengalerie der Deutschen Werkstätten. The focus is on spatial installations, ranging from small works to large works with an architectural reference. Ardley's sensitive handling of space and movement is outstanding. He transforms the two-dimensional into the three-dimensional and creates structures from colours, surfaces, lines and direction.
