Hosting an exhibition for Christine Schlegel on the occasion of her 75th birthday fills us with great joy and gratitude for almost 20 years of collaboration. Our exhibition joins the presentation "Lärmende Stille" at the Brandenburg State Museum of Modern Art in Cottbus and the exhibition "Sowieso" at the Städtische Galerie Dresden. This will provide a comprehensive insight into the life's work of this extraordinary artist.
"Introvertedly figurative and at the same time shaping the unconscious, Christine Schlegel works on her fantasy creatures in the best Dresden tradition. Her pictorial programmes revolve around themselves in such a profound and energetic way that they cannot leave anyone cold who has dared to enter her sphere of influence. In compositions that connect what is seen with what is seen, it is primarily colour that fulfils an exploratory function and provides information about the degree of aesthetic penetration of human existence."  Christoph Tannert
