100 years of the Deutsche Fotothek provided an opportunity to stimulate artistic-photographic production in dialogue with the image collection. As part of a fellowship, photographer Bastian Gehbauer (*1985) realised his interpretation of the furniture photographs by Friedrich Weimer (1913-2008). He focuses on the "assemblages" of various pieces of furniture as well as individual pieces, which develop a strong abstraction and an almost sculptural character through their isolation.
