August Kotzsch - Fotografie
28.03.2026 — 21.06.2026
The important photographer of the late 19th century is presented in his versatile oeuvre at his former place of work, Loschwitz. In addition to views of places, picturesque landscapes and staged genre portraits, Kotzsch's "studies of nature" between late Romanticism and astonishingly modern imagery can also be discovered.
The exhibition marks the publication of the catalogue raisonné of over 1,000 works by Schirmer/Mosel Verlag. Previously unknown motifs uncovered in the course of the research and a special focus on Kotzsch's photographic practice and the distribution of his images offer new insights into Kotzsch research.
Jens Bove and Agnes Matthias will speak at the opening on Friday, 27 March 2026.
