The art symposium Strömungen Proudĕní is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. Founded in 1999 in the Řehlovice cultural centre by Lenka Holíková, the symposium and exhibition first took place in Dresden at the Amonhof in 2000. At that time, it was still organised by facette e.V. and supported by the Brücke/Most Foundation. The symposium has been organised by riesa efau for many years and takes place every two years with changing themes. This year, the artists are focussing on the theme "In the long run / nadlouho". The artists will try to reflect on which aspects of a fast-moving present we can integrate into our everyday lives in the long term so that the needs of the present are satisfied without restricting the possibilities of future generations. As part of the ten-day art symposium Strömungen Proudĕní, the participants will create works of art that will be exhibited at the vernissage on 19 October from 7 p.m. in the round corner of riesa efau until 30 November 2024. We are convinced that art has a lasting effect and that the art symposium is a project that can have a long-term impact. But what conditions does the project need to be successful in the long term?

In a follow-up exhibition in the Czech Republic, the works will be on display at the Gotické Dvojče Gallery in Litomĕřice at the beginning of next year. The exhibition will be accompanied by a catalogue.
