The combination of word and image is typical of the work of artist Antje Wichtrey - she has created numerous art books with depictions inspired by literary models - as well as a mostly large-scale, delicately luminous colourfulness, against the background of which fragile figures or objects captured in precise detail often stand out. This applies to both Wichtrey's paintings and his colour woodcuts.
