In his studio and photography studio in Dresden’s Äußere Neustadt district, Amac Garbe does more than just capture people beautifully. He develops and curates exhibitions in collaboration with other artists and photographers.

Currently on display at his premises on Sebnitzer Straße is ‘Rosapinkrot’, a project with the Dresden-based artist Monika Grobel. Also this summer/autumn at the Markthalle Dresden is the photography exhibition ‘Nischen’ (Parts I + II), in collaboration with ‘neuerdings’ and ‘wirgestaltendresden’.

In conversation with the Dresden art historian Susanne Magister, he looks back on his artistic development and his journey into photography. The focus is on his conceptual work in series such as ‘Unfallwagen’, ‘Unter Lampen’ and his new series ‘Bruchglas’.
