With 5 Hunde später Oberüber Karger presents works by the Leipzig-based artist Nicolás Dupont, which explore subtle shifts in everyday life and the passing of time. The exhibition title plays on an unusual form of measuring time whilst also referring to a motif that recurs throughout Dupont’s work: the dog.

In his paintings, Dupont focuses on familiar spaces, objects, animals and people. Through subtle shifts, he creates visual worlds that feel familiar and yet slightly alien. Everyday scenes are thrown off balance, inviting viewers to develop their own associations. The exhibition brings together older and more recent works, thereby tracing the development of Dupont’s painterly language: from a humorous and direct style towards an increasingly subtle visual world.

5 Hunde später will be on display at Oberüber Karger from 19 September 2026. The opening, attended by the artist, begins at 11 am.
