This year, there is something new at the long Liquid Sound Festival night in Bad Schandau: there is a second stage in the Liquid Sound Temple (underwater sound system), which is organised by the Verein zur Förderung von Kunst und Kultur im ländlichen Raum Sachsen e.V. (Association for the Promotion of Art and Culture in Rural Saxony). The artists who have contributed to the diverse programme of the SONAR - The World is Sound project this year with their composition residencies will be presented there. These include: Larissa Schlicher & Antje Meichsner (Resident at Meetfactory Prague), Seljuk Rustum (Resident C.Rockefeller Center/Network Media Art/Goethe Institute Bangalore), Yenting Hsu (Resident C.Rockefeller Center/Network Media Art/Goethe Institute Taipei/Treasure Hill Artist Village Taipei), Aliaksandra Yakubouskaya & Katarina Kadijevic (Resident at C.Rockefeller Center). These artists have created compositions especially for the underwater sound system, which will be presented during the long night.

In the outdoor area, a new media art format will be shown on a specially erected LED video wall: the video installation FLUID_M by Jo Siamon Salich - "Visitors enter an immersive image and sound environment, a spatial perception that flows into itself and is also supported by ambient sound. A meditation space is created in which the audience can withdraw and be absorbed." Enriched by interactive FlowDance by ANDY IX.

The video wall is a contribution by DresdenContemporaryart e.V. / Netzwerk Medien Kunst and shows further video works by  ® AV limited ™, Tatjana Bikic and Andreas Ullrich during the course of the long night.

On the main stage in the Toskana Therme you can see, among others: Sveriges Vänner, PØNG, desert sand feels warm at night, Axl Rhodes,  PERMASPACE, Occupied Head, hofuku sochi 報復措置 . 

The festival programme starts at 6pm and runs until approx. Admission to the festival night is the normal thermal spa and sauna landscape rate, i.e. at no extra cost!

It is recommended to arrive early at around 4-5 pm, or from 9 pm, as there is usually a long queue at the entrance from 6 pm, in case an admission stop is necessary due to the large number of visitors ....

The SONAR - Die Welt ist Klang project is supported by friends of DresdenContempoaryArt e.V / Netzwerk Medien Kunst, Medienkulturzentrum Dresden, the city of Bad Schandau, the Kulturstiftung des Freistaats Sachsen, the Kulturraum Meißen-Sächsische Schweiz-Osterzgebirge, the Euroregion Elbelabe, the Musiksommer Bärenstein, the Toskana Therme Bad Schandau and the C.Rockefeller Center for the contemporary arts. The composition residencies for the Liquid Sound underwater sound system were also supported by the German-Czech Future Fund, Forplay Society, the Goethe Institute Bangalore, the Goethe Institute Taipei, the Treasure Hill Artist Village Taipei and Meetfactory Prague.
