22.07 – 02.08.26 Leon Schuster: vessels under similiar conditions
22.07.2026 — 02.08.2026
Opening: 22 July, 6.00 pm
Exhibition open: 24, 25 and 26 July
and 1 and 2 August (2.00–5.00 pm)
In his solo exhibition, Leon Schuster explores vessels under similar conditions our relationship with our environment and the forms our interaction with it takes. Through photographic and sculptural gestures, he attempts – amongst other things, with a touch of humour – to engage not only with our relationship to nature, but also with our social interactions.
A sense of wonder and amazement at stark contrasts lies at the heart of his observations. Thus, Schuster’s works address not only the associated absurdities that we ourselves create and leave behind in our environment, but also the contradictions that go hand in hand with them. Nothing seems certain: what seems familiar and stimulating one moment turns out to be chaotic and overwhelming the next. A field of tension emerges that requires artistic clarification and contextualisation.
This exploration takes place between the everyday and the artificial, the banal and the significant.
Leon Schuster is currently studying at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts in Judith Hopf’s class. In the coming academic year, he will spend an Erasmus semester at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna.
