16.10.-26.10.2025 Soyoung Park: „Daydreaming about Love“

Invitation to the exhibition by Soyoung Park - Daydreaming about Love

16 October - 26 October 2025

What dream do you still remember?

The artist Soyoung Park invites visitors into an imaginary space - a place of dreams, memories and self-reflection.

The central element of her installation is a cupboard that originally emerged from one of the artist's dreams and became the starting point for her sound installation. All of this is perhaps reminiscent of a treasure chamber that encourages people to reflect on their own treasures and memories.

The work is inspired by Buddhist relics, in particular the Sarira shrine of the Gamunsa Temple in Gyeongju, which is guarded by four protective beings. These guardian beings are characterised by oversized, superhuman faces. Such faces are not only found in Asia, but also in Europe. They are said to ward off demons and bring good luck.

The exhibition offers space to engage with beautiful or painful memories, regrets or new learning.

Teatime of Loving Memory

Sun, 19.10.2025 3 pm

with Sojin Baik (art historian, focus on Korean art in a global context) and Soyoung Park

Moderation: Denise Ackermann (cultural sociologist, curator)

Soyoung Park never let go of a dream. It emerged again and again - as a quiet impulse for daydreams, from which various artistic works gradually emerged. In her project "Daydreaming about Love", Park follows the traces of this inner image. She explores personal memories, sensual impressions and cultural imprints. We would like to explore the latter together in an exchange with the artist and Sojin Baik, moderated by Denise Ackermann.

Finissage: Sun, 26.10.2025 4 pm

Opening times: Fri 4 - 8 pm, Sat & Sun  2 - 6 pm
