"Beware of unknown dangers" is the first event in the new laboratory series "Lapis PhilosoForum", which aims to provide artists with a space for process-based presentation and exchange. Works will be shown in a sketchy, speculative, experimental state so that they can be tested and understood in the space and in dialogue with other (artists?). Based on the philosopher's stone, which has to go through many steps of separation, combination and sublimation in order to become "this precious thing that is without value, this multiform thing that has no form, this unknown thing that everyone knows". "Beware of unknown danger" is a multi-channel video installation by Andreas Ullrich and Tatjana Bikic, which experimentally processes the current material from the first round of the residency exchange between Netzwerk Medien Kunst / DresdenContempoaryArt e.V. and the Treasure Hill Artist Village Taipei and presents it for discussion. It flashes, pulsates and glows.

Yuanfen (緣分)   "fateful coincidence," is a concept in Chinese society describing good and bad chances and potential relationships. It can also be translated as "destiny, luck as conditioned by one's past", or "natural affinity among friends." It is comparable to the concept of karma in Buddhism, but yuanfen is interactive rather than individual. The driving forces and causes behind yuánfèn are said to be actions done in previous incarnations.

Suíyuán (隨緣) translates to "to follow where fate takes you" or "to go with the flow" in English. It is often used in Buddhist contexts to mean "to accord with conditions" or "to act according to the reality of dependent origination". It can also refer to being transformed by the conditions of the situation or being conditioned. In a broader sense, it suggests a philosophy of accepting things as they come without struggling against them.
