As the final event of the three-year concept funding programme of the Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony, the Kunstverein Meißen invites 7 artists to realise a temporary exhibition project in public space for 6 weeks, taking into account urban, cultural and social aspects of the city.
The participating artists will occupy and change niches, alleyways, squares and other places of public life in order to negotiate new perspectives of social and cultural participation beyond economic structures and thought patterns. The individual artistic works relate to the specifics of the location with its historical, architectural or social contexts.
During this time, the exhibition space in Burgstraße serves as a kind of city map with references to the individual artists and works and where they can be found. All locations are distributed throughout the city in such a way that they are easily accessible on foot and can be combined into a tour.
