The monotype is a printing process that has been known since the early 17th century and normally only produces a single print. Other printing processes deliberately aim to reproduce the original. With monotype, each print is truly unique.
The image design can be significantly influenced by the various options available during the printing process, resulting in a wide range of possibilities between the design and abstraction of the motifs. The monotype is suitable as an introductory technique for beginners as well as for artistically experienced people.
