Spiegelmarsch. A Choreography for the public space
24.03.2017 — 26.03.2017
Sat, March 18., 2017, 4 p.m., Meeting Point: Kunsthaus Dresden
Mon, March 20., 2017, 4 p.m, Meeting Point: Städtische Galerie Dresden, Wilsdruffer Str. 2
The performance with over twenty head-high mirrors and four standardbearers reflects on diverse historic or contemporary movement patterns of different kinds of formations – starting from military divisions, marching bands, demonstrations or political assemblies and leading to unique gatherings. The march is moving through the public space according to a musical composition written by André Obermüller and performed by Elisabeth Rosenthal who is leading the march while playing the music on a march-chime. The performance will start at the Kunsthaus Dresden and invites you to reflect on present and future developments concerning democracy and public spaces.
A cooperation with the Militärhistorisches Museum der Bundeswehr (MHM) and the Städtische Galerie Dresden. Funded by the Ostsächsische Sparkasse Dresden and the Amt für Kultur- und Denkmalschutz of the City of Dresden
