The Dresden artist Stefan Plenkers is known far beyond the borders of Saxony.

As early as 1980, the renowned Dresden art historian Diether Schmidt described him as the "head of young Dresden graphic art and painting". He has a long exhibition history with our museum: he exhibited here as early as 1973, immediately after his studies at the HfBK Dresden, then again in 1986 and 1996.

His 80th birthday (on 28 April 2025) was the occasion for us to invite him to an honourable retrospective. Now, after his death, the exhibition will be a worthy and joyful reminder.
