At second glance, however, his reduced paintings contain remnants of filtered visual impressions. In a continuous process of painterly superimposition, of color surfaces layered in front of and behind one another, Lenke develops atmospherically condensed spatial experiences. His photographic notes and observations are his silent companions on his journeys
through landscapes and urban spaces.
