PETER BIALOBRZESKI | Urbane Räume
03.08.2024 — 28.09.2024
Peter Bialobrzeski (*1961) studied communication design, specialising in photography, in Essen and London. He has been a professor of photography at the University of the Arts in Bremen since 2002.
Bialobrzeski became known for his Neon Tigers series about megacities in Asia. These cities are exemplary of places where the rapid developments and changes of the globalised world become visible. The photographer shows a cool metropolitan world, usually photographed at dawn, in whose sea of buildings people are barely visible.
Peter Bialobrzeski has received several awards: in 2003 and 2010 he received the WorldPressPhoto Award. In 2012, he received the Dr Erich Salomon Prize from the German Photographic Society. His books have been honoured with numerous awards, including the German Photo Book Award. Since 1989, his photographic work has appeared in renowned international magazines and journals such as Stern, Telegraph Magazine, ZEIT Magazin, New York Times and GEO.
