Peter Ursinus (1946-2012) was a photographer of contradictions. Scenes of rough Kreuzberg street life in the 1970s alternate in his work with timeless still lifes full of poetry, subtle humour and deep melancholy lie close together, the beauty of the shabby and the charm of dreariness can hardly be distinguished from one another.
