DJ DUCH ("Duch" translated from Polish: "spirit") comes from Wrocław (Breslau) and is dedicated to the (re)discovery of Eastern European, but especially Polish electronic music in what was probably the most eventful decade in the country's recent cultural history from 1989-1999. Whether house, techno or Polish rap - the period of awakening after more than 40 years of communism in Poland was more than fruitful and brought forth a wealth and broad spectrum of music that characterised the local club scene for years to come.

It is the cryptic #hauntology hashtag - the pursuit of the musical ghosts of the past without falling victim to the platitude and commercialism of retro that defines DJ DUCH's work. His latest mixtape releases have caused quite a stir in Poland and beyond its borders. Most recently, the "Blue Zone" mix, which achieves an almost archival quality by compiling the most important tracks of the Polish mid-nineties liquid drum'n'bass scene at the beginning of 2024

His close connection with The Very Polish Cut Outs cult label and his own SUPERKASETY RECORDS label, which is always about the latest productions of young Polish progressive electronics on tapes, should also not go unmentioned.
