In his conceptual series "Past Perfect", Jürgen Schmidt explores the transitory nature of movement in analogue black and white format. The disappearance of any definable and distinguishable form in his portrait photographs gives way to an ephemeral impression that captures the transience of our existence. It is the loss of certainty, the moment of defusing the eye-catching stimuli and the partial absence of the concrete, tangible form that point to the relativity of everything that exists.
