The presentation Darkroom in the centre of the Book Museum tells a media history of photography based on the collection of the Deutsche Fotothek. Against the backdrop of the shift from analogue to digital, it explores the diversity of photographic manifestations and materialities as well as the tension between the unique image as the result of the first photographic processes and reproducibility as a central characteristic of the medium.
